Grouping multiple orders into a single pick trip to cut walking time, then sorting items to orders afterward.
Instead of walking the warehouse once per order, batch picking groups many orders so a picker collects all units of each SKU in one pass; wave picking releases batches in timed groups aligned to carrier cutoffs or zones. Both slash the biggest cost in picking: walking.
