Shipping zones

Geographic bands carriers use to price ground shipments -- the farther the zone, the higher the cost and transit time.

Carriers divide the country into zones measured from your origin. A package to zone 2 costs far less than the same package to zone 8. Zones are why warehouse location -- and splitting inventory across regions -- has such a large effect on shipping spend.

Understanding zones helps you decide where to hold stock and which carrier wins for which lanes. Use our shipping zone comparison tool to estimate the cost difference across carriers and zones for a given package.
