An honest comparison

Skuwell vs Stocky — which fits your operation?

Stocky's full shutdown is August 31, 2026. Purchase orders, stocktakes, and the APIs stop working that day, and Shopify has said suppliers can't be exported at all. If Stocky runs your purchasing, you need a migration plan now — not in August.

Stocky was Shopify's free purchasing and inventory companion for Shopify POS Pro: purchase orders, stocktakes, supplier records, and (until July 2025) demand forecasting and stock transfers. It only ever worked for Shopify, and Shopify has now confirmed it's being discontinued — removed from the App Store on February 2, 2026, with a hard shutdown including its APIs on August 31, 2026.

Skuwell is built to be where Stocky users land: real demand forecasting (including the intermittent demand Stocky never handled), replenishment that drafts POs for you, a supplier/vendor portal instead of email threads, and a full warehouse and multichannel order system around it. You don't lose capabilities migrating off Stocky — you gain the ones Shopify took away.

The honest answer

Who should pick which.

Choose Stocky if…

  • There's no reason to choose Stocky — Shopify is shutting it down on August 31, 2026
  • If you only need it for a few more weeks, export your data now while you still can
  • Suppliers cannot be exported from Stocky at all, so record them before the cutoff

Choose Skuwell if…

  • You need purchase orders and stocktakes that won't disappear in August 2026
  • You want the demand forecasting and transfers Shopify removed from Stocky in July 2025
  • You sell beyond Shopify POS and need multichannel orders, not a Shopify-only tool
  • You want a supplier portal and replenishment, not a free app on life support
FAQ

Skuwell vs Stocky, answered.

When is Stocky shutting down?

Stocky was removed from the Shopify App Store on February 2, 2026, and shuts down completely — including its APIs — on August 31, 2026. Demand forecasting and stock transfers were already removed in July 2025.

Can I export my data from Stocky?

Partially, and only until the shutdown. Purchase orders and stocktakes can be exported manually, but Shopify has stated suppliers cannot be exported at all — so document your supplier list before August 31, 2026.

Is Skuwell a good Stocky replacement?

Yes. Skuwell covers everything Stocky did — purchase orders, stocktakes, suppliers, receiving — plus the forecasting and transfers Shopify removed, and extends to multichannel orders and a full warehouse system. Migrations run with a preview step before any data is written.
